A Year In My Backyard by Alison Warner

What do you like doing in your backyard?  Do you like looking for feathers or find insects hidden in the bark?

There are lots of things to see and do when you're growing up in South East Queensland.

A Year In My Backyard takes a look at some of the things that young children can do and find in the natural environment of the Moreton Bay Region.  Month by month, children can look at over 100 different animals and plants in creative and colourful illustrations.  Suited to 3-7 year olds, there are also hidden animals that children will love to find.

Alison Warner is a first time independent author and illustrator.  With a background in Visual Arts and photography, her illustrated works are all handmade montages.  She lives in South East Queensland with her husband, two children and four chickens, with a big backyard full of native plants and visiting animals that she loves to draw.  She hopes to inspire children, and their love of the local natural world.
